Watty Thompson
Watty Thompson - Jenny
'Jenny' is the second single from Watty Thompson's forthcoming debut album. Shot and edited by Max Rawicz of We Are Moon House www.wearemoonhouse.com Directed by Max Rawicz and Watty Thompson. Lighting: Ian Vandermey Set design: Watty Thompson, Lester Congram, Isabelle Beale, Tom Hound, Jess Von Bastard. Special thanks to the Yeodene Public Hall. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of Gadubanud country. The lands upon which this video was filmed. 'Jenny' Oh Jenny. I wish that I could talk, but I donāt and then you get hurt. I can talk anyones ear off, no matter where or when. Strangers or the neighbours, family or friends. Skilful conversation is one thing that Iāve got, But on the subject of emotion my tongue ties into a knot. We can talk about the weather, talk about the news, Talk about your sports team or your political views. We can talk on many subjects. I just donāt seem to care. But when it comes to feelings, I get caught unaware. Oh Jenny. I wish that I could talk, but I donāt and then you get hurt. Oh Jenny. I wish I had the words, to make you feel better, But now youāre left in the lurch. Iād like to speak with substance, heart, soul and sustain. Iād like to finally knock down the walls up in my brain, So I could talk more freely and offer you advice, With words that have more meaning, with words that empathise. Day or night of summer, autumn, winter or of spring, I can talk to almost anyone about any-bloody-thing, But when it comes to deep and meaningful hearts on the line, I stumble and I stutter, until the words curl up and die. Oh Jenny. I wish that I could talk, but I donāt and then you get hurt. Oh Jenny. I wish I had the words, to make you feel better, But now youāre left in the lurch. The afternoon grows silent. Thereās nothing else been said. Iām trying to bring you comfort with the thoughts inside my head. Now I donāt lack compassion and Iām not being withdrawn, But by the time I form a sentence Jen, the momentās been and gone. One day Iāll be different and my lines wonāt be so brief. Iāll wrangle words of wisdom to bring you solace and relief. Please believe me Jenny, cause I love you just the same, And although I donāt express it, youāre the gold under my rainbow. Jenny. I wish that I could talk, but I donāt and then you get hurt. Oh Jenny. I wish I had the words, to make you feel better, But now youāre left in the lurch. Oh Jenny.
